Day of Infamy [Steam, Official Site], the WWII FPS from the Insurgency developers has a big update including new maps, updated game-modes, performance improvements and more.

Note: It doesn't list Linux support or have a SteamOS icon yet, as it's not fully read. It does have a Linux version and it works okay for me.

Here's a video of me trying to survive a war:

The Linux version does have a few issues the Linux version has is the issue of "dead eyes", as in, soldiers don't actually have any eyes when picking your loadout. It's a bit freaky, but rather minor. You also get some textures flashing to white, which can be a bit annoying.

Even with the minor issues, it's still pretty damn fun and it does have people always playing online, so hopefully at release it will be full enough.

This update doesn't have any major new features, but it has a lot of quality of life improvements to practically every aspect of the game.

The new update also has a potential fix for the radial menu on Linux, but you need to be in full-screen.

A single new map and two new game modes aren't something I would consider to be major by themselves though.

2 new maps, both Foy and Crete are playable now :)

What would you consider a major feature, then?

One of those maps is a W.I.P so it's not actually finished :)

As for what I would consider, unsure, but not as small as that. It is a major patch, as noted, due to how many tweaks and fixes it does, but since when was two game modes, one map and one w.i.p map huge new features? :P

I used to love Call of Duty (the first) online, this looks kinda like that! I would love to play this, however I wonder if my laptop can handle it. Minimum says:
OS: Windows 7
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 processor or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Video card must be 512 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Storage: 4 GB available space

I have 8gb RAM so that's fine, and I have a 1gb AMD GPU, but I wonder if it will be playable (reqs for linux should be a bit higher I guess). Wish there was a demo.

These are pretty low requirements, what video card exactly do you have? What graphics intensive games are you able to play with it? I believe you should be fine if you don't mind playing on low details level!

Thanks for the nice video. I'm an Insurgency fan and the gameplay you posted looks pretty good. The graphics are lame and WWII is such an old gaming theme, but it does look fun. I may pick it up when it's out of Early Access and has a Linux badge.

My card defies naming alot, but this is what lscpi says:
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon R4/R5 Graphics] [1002:9851] (rev 05) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

I've understood that it is GCN 1.1 capable. I play TF2 on low settings with good FPS, I also managed Quadrilateral Cowboy on low settings well, and DiRT: Showdown suprisingly well! Mirrors Edge with Gallium3D via Wine also works well with latest git MESA+Wine.

As you say, I have no need for fancy graphics, I will happily turn of everything that can be turned off.

Difficult to tell, as it is probably more graphics intense than TF2. Worst case scenario, you can get a refund if it won't run.

This is probably the best thing about steam IMO, it really helps to not be super worried about buying games that it is uncertain my computer can handle. I also love demos. I wonder if DoI will ever go on sale, it is a little steep, the price.
