The developers of Vikings - Wolves of Midgard [Steam] have confirmed that Linux is planned, but it won't be until after the initial Windows release.

From their now updated FAQ:
QuotePlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC at launch; with Mac and Linux to follow at a later date.

Previously the game had a section open for Linux/SteamOS system requirements, which has been removed since the FAQ has been updated to say that.

Hopefully this won't be another we end up chasing down, but their publisher Kalypso Media is pretty Linux friendly, so it would be nice if we don't have to.

About the game
The Action RPG Vikings – Wolves of Midgard takes you to the Shores of Midgard, a world based upon the mythology and history of the Vikings, but with a fantasy twist. Battle the fearsome Jotan, hordes of terrifying undead monstrosities and the beasts of Ragnarok, as you strive to survive the growing cold that threatens to end all life, forever. Master mighty weapons, including sword and shield, two-handed hammers, dual-wielded axes and swift bows. Earn blood in battle to offer in tribute to the Gods in order to acquire and enhance devastating Spell Powers and other special unlockables.

It looks and sounds awesome, so hopefully we won't be kept waiting for too long. I would love to see more action RPG like games on Linux. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

what I'm seeing at the moment is Steam is £29.74 & GOG is £29.79, both say it's a 15% discount but they come to different amounts.

Normally, when I read that a game will be released "after the Windows version," I think "Ah, good, they'll get to it sometime before the heat death of the universe!" and delete it from the "Things to Look Forward to" file in my brain.

But I must say, I'm heartened by Kalypso's track record of Linux support and fully expect WoM will be released shortly after the Win version. I've had it on my wishlist since early last August and have really been looking forward to it.

And I see 38.29 € down from 44.99 € in Finland. That's some major regional pricing.

Wow! Indeed, if I use my computer in Spain to go to the page it also shows me 44.99->38.29€.
I wonder if this is on purpose (why?) or some sort of error....

I almost feel tempted to just pre-order. But with the unknown timeline of Linux-support I better wait.

Edit: I just dropped it to my shopping cart, to see if anything changes. To my surprise I got a warning that 'some of your purchases are not compatible with your Linux System' (at GOG it is only listed for Windows, although the trailer explicitly mentions Linux). Nice move, GOG!
Price stayed at 23.99 though...

This is the first I've heard of this game, but man, that trailer made it look really, really good. I don't think I can continue liking myself if I don't buy it.

It's just currency conversion, these days everyone pays the same price but converted to your currency so 38.29 in Spain is the same as 29.79 in the UK.

If you look at the screen grab with the lower price in Pit's earlier post, it clearly shows € (euro) as the currency, and he said he was in Sweden, not the UK. Converted to Swedish kronor the price would be 363.49 according to Google. Besides, 38.29 € is more like £33.20.

Yep you're right, not sure where I pulled Spain from, put it down to me having a funny turn while typing. ;)
