Tyranny [Official Site] is a pretty fantastic experience for RPG fans on Linux and it seems something is coming tomorrow.

Obsidian has begun teasing something, what that something is I have no idea. Quite possibly a new DLC:

You can see the two tweets here and here.

Obviously very little to go on right now, but it's quite exciting. The game is huge as it is, so if they manage to expand the world it will be interesting to see where it goes.

On which note, Tyranny can be grabbed at 50% off (Commander edition) or 60% off (Archon edition) on Humble store right now - By claiming the free Coupons on the E3 Bundle Page .

I'm pretty tempted myself, but I've got such a big back-log of games and haven't even started Pillars of Eternity (plus expansions) yet, which I already own.

Coupon currently heating up in my hand. Hehe.

They still didn't fix the annoying lack of LFS bug... I think the reason they are stuck with 32-bit is some mess of Paradox integration libraries that they are using, which don't exist in 64-bit.

Is this worth a punt then? It seems to get rave reviews on Steam, but I haven't seen a Lets Play, so I'm not sure if it's my kind of thing. I loved Balder's Gate back in the day, but didn't really like the mechanics in PoE much. I enjoyed a bit of Divinity, but grew bored after about 20 hours or so. I absolutely loved the Shadowrun games.

I also have a bit of backlog, but I'm looking for something to sink my teeth into now that I've finally finished Salt and Sanctuary (twice!).

I heard the game was quite short story wise, like 6hrs or something.

I might wait until it hits $15usd or something .

I'd say it's at least 20 hours long, which is short by some crpg standards. According to Steam, I spent over 40 hours on my first playthrough, but I tend to take longer completing games than than most do.

Colour me excited for this. I hope its story content, because Tyranny was a great game and it's spell mechanics and story are just screaming for a continuation.

This is the game I vowed to never buy thanks to GOG's lack of upgrade paths, which are present on Steam.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is an upgrade path?

I guess he means upgrading from edition to another.
So , if you have the base game edition and want to upgrade that to the deluxe edition.

Ah thanks! Makes sense that way, yes. I indeed see no such step-up, though many other games have it (on GOG). Sounds like a restriction from publisher to me, but what do I know :/
