Distance [Steam, Official Site] is a fantastic survival racer with some seriously slick visuals, it's addictive and it's had a fresh coat of paint.

Here's the highlights of this latest release:
  • Fully implemented v1 of the trick announcer (like in Nitronic Rush)
  • Completely reworked Stunt mode
  • One new Stunt level (Neon Park)
  • Two new Challenge levels (Red Heat, Disassembly Line)
  • 22 Steam Achievements
  • New editor features like an animator component, force zones, etc.
  • Workshop level data is now cached (no more long update on startup)
  • Main menu usability improvements

There's more to it than that, so go check out the full update notes here.

I've personally got six hours in the game and I really do enjoy it. It's really fun attempting to beat the scores of people on my Steam list, but some of the times are insane.

Distance also has some of the best ambient music in any video game I've played, I could easily listen to it all day. I've often left it in the background just to relax to it.

I tested it out a bit again with this new update and all works as expected. It feels pretty great with the Steam Controller too, so for those of you picking one up during the sale this could be an ideal game for you. It's also 50% off during the Steam Summer Sale, so it's a fantastic time to pick up such a fun title. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It's available DRM-free in the Humble Store: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/distance

This game looks very nice, but a bit expensive for what it is at its regular price, in my opinion. Do you know if the humble store will host some summer sales as well?

This is a great game - very slick. I really hope they get around to finishing the story mode!

Man, this game feels like it's been in early access forever. I hope it releases fully some day. Until then, I'll continue to pass it by.

Yeah me too, out of sheer principle.

Not sure, but I added it to my wishlist there. It notifies you when games in the wishlist are on sale.

By the way, does someone know if it is DRM-free on Steam?
