Comedy Night [Steam], an online game about performing comedy in front of a live audience has recently released the Linux version.
It would be interesting to be in the audience, but I can't imagine joining a server and attempting to do the comedy myself, I think nerves would get the better of me even if I'm not technically there in person. I'm also not that funny! I can do grumpy, I'm rather good at that.

About the game:
Perform
Perform in front of a live audience as an individual or go head to head with another performer. If you are an aspiring comedian this is a great sandbox to try out new material and perfect your show. If you can sing, see how a live audience responds in the open mic singing rooms or take other players down in rap battle sessions.
Watch
Be part of the audience and decide which performers stay or go by voting them off the stage. Heckle players or encourage them as they do their best to entertain you.
Create
Players have full control over custom avatars as they use different styles and animations to enhance the performance.
I've watched some videos on it and some of the stuff people say is just—yeah, awful. Some people try really hard and end up getting told to f-off and all kinds of crazy things. I do love the idea, but people are terrible. Some of it does look funny though, but most of what I've seen is just people swearing at each other.
Totally unsure on this one.
Thanks for the tip NuSuey.
people are terribleThe basic problem of most online games.
Quoting: EikeIndeed. I checked out some vids and while the premise is great and could be a lot of fun, unfortunately it could get tiring wading through the idiots.people are terribleThe basic problem of most online games.
Might be fun with a GOL only crowd though :D Don't know how you could control the audience, I'll take a cautionary glance anyway.
It's also pure YouTuber fodder.

Quoting: thelimeydragonThe "game" is just a semi-static 3D Voice only chatroom where you get to hear some of the worst behaviour of the internet. That's all there is to it.Yeah, this is pretty much how I ended up feeling about it.

Quoting: liamdaweYou should still do a GOL only thingy :PQuoting: thelimeydragonThe "game" is just a semi-static 3D Voice only chatroom where you get to hear some of the worst behaviour of the internet. That's all there is to it.Yeah, this is pretty much how I ended up feeling about it.

The game is still being developed actively and it looks like they're working to give room owners the powers to silence, kick and ban users, so the "nasty" elements are getting contained. Find a room with a decent admin and it could be a lot of fun.
p.s. I generally avoid any online gaming so I surprised myself by getting this one
Quoting: fabertaweWell I actually picked this up :P Seemed like it was worth a punt at that price. I've only given it a very brief testing though but it does appear to work perfectly on Linux (so far). What fun stuff did you find to play solo ?

I just played through Tacoma.
I guess you'll like it if you liked Gone Home and/or Firewatch.

Vielen dank :)
Quoting: razing32What fun stuff did you find to play solo ?Really? I currently have over 400 Linux games :woot: Quite amazing! None of those are multiplayer only games.
Curios for myself :P
I tend to favour FPS type games like Dying Light, Hitman, Borderlands 2, Deus Ex, Shadow Of Mordor, Mad Max etc etc, you get the idea ;) Steamworld Dig's the nearest I get to a platformer these days.
Quoting: razing32(currently i am playing older games via wine)I used Wine for gaming but not for a few years now. I did rack up 103 hours in Far Cry 2, for instance and loved the Stalker series.

My comment was meant more tongue in cheek
Was more curios what you were having fun with. I have a tonne of games but I seem to find myself drifting to older games run via wine (Tachyon the Fringe , Deus Ex 1 , Return to Castle Wolfenstein)
Don't think I ever had a love affair with platformers but did play them as a kid since they were the norm.
Loved Dying light but more from the sense of dread and panic while traversing the city at night.
I tend to favor RTS/TBS/Point and click and just stay away from the action and breathe in the world around me.

Maybe I've been neglecting my gaming at a subconscious level because I agree with you ;) I'm slowing down with old age!
