Humble and GOG both have plenty of titles on sale for Halloween

By - | Views: 7,326

Ahead of the Steam sale today, both GOG and Humble are getting in early to beat the crowds falling over themselves to get the latest game on Steam. Come in, sit down, have a look at what's on offer. Just mind the cobwebs.

Naturally, there's plenty of Linux games on offer with both stores having quite a different selection. Especially since a lot of the bigger titles aren't on GOG.

Here's a little selection I hand-picked which are all interesting games:

Of course, I can't list everything I love or everything I think you might love, those are just random picks of games I personally liked.

Find all Linux games on sale on GOG here or check out Humble Store here. Looks like Humble took my feedback on board about adding platform icons back for their themed sales—good stuff.

Worth noting the Humble Monthly has HITMAN, 7 Days to Die and Hollow Knight too. With 7 Days due a pretty huge update sometime soon that looks really good and it will apparently get Vulkan support too.

Also, Humble just put up a Java book bundle if that's your thing.

I am just going to use this as ANOTHER opportunity to complain about the fact the Linux release of the Penumbra Collection is still not on GOG.com as of the time of this posting. It is quite annoying that I am still reliant on my old Desura copy of the game. Please get on this already Frictional. Your support for Linux and DRM Free gaming in every other respect is top notch.

I have had some luck in the past with directly emailing developers about GOG builds. In both instances, they ended up available on GOG within the following week.

Disclaimer: Minor indie devs. I'm not so sure how well that would pan out with bigger studios.

That was my first recourse, yeah. Never got a response though.

I committed the sin of buying Outlast 2 since it seems to run well with DXVK. Not much into scary games but I like the setting in this title :)
