Simple pleasures - bouncing and barking my way to victory in Barkour

By - | Views: 11,331

Sometimes it really is the simplest things that you need to make you laugh. Taking away from all the seriousness of the gaming industry we have Barkour.

It's a small 2D indie platformer where you play as some sort of robotic dog with a powered jump ability. You need to find your way across an obstacle course, one that's designed to be difficult and it will take you some time to do. Get a gamepad ready for this one, you're going to need it.

A really simple idea yet so brilliant at the same time. You can reset to a checkpoint flag any time and if you get stuck, you can loudly bark to push the little robotic doggo backwards.

Don't let the simplicity fool you, this is a surprisingly challenging little game. Developed by Wayne Petzler, it also has some seriously chilled beats to jump to from CharlietooHuman. Altogether it makes a delightfully odd package.

Look, you even get to press a trigger on your gamepad to wag your tail if you're not sold on it already:

Slick tunes and a challenging yet hilarious platformer you can get free. Find Barkour free on

Wayne has yet another very fun Linux game, Birdsketball, a straightforward sports title about birds throwing a ball into the goal. It is focused on local multiplayer which makes it a perfect party game.
