Google have again rolled out a feature they've been promising for some time, as today you can now use the Stadia Controller over wireless with a Chromium browser.

Announced on their latest round-up blog post, the Stadia team said "Starting this week, you can now use the Stadia Controller to play wirelessly on your laptop and desktop. You no longer need to connect your Stadia Controller physically to your computer to play your favorite games. You’ll be able to link your Stadia Controller and Stadia.com through your Wi-Fi network and play without a USB-C cable connection.".

Here you can see a quick video of it working fine:

It's good to see Google begin to deliver on more of the needed features they advertised before release, this has been what feels like a long time coming but it's here now and works well. It's a little different and slightly weird, since the Stadia Controller connects wireless over your internet network instead of connecting to your PC.

There's also a bunch of games on Stadia discounted right now including big savings on Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Rage 2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and more.

Nice one! Surprisingly easy to setup, and the PC does not need to be on Wireless for it to work.

Bypassing the PC was IIRC a feature that supposedly improves input response. Have you noticed any changes?

I does feel a wee bit snappier on the first-person aiming.

Love it, worked well on Manjaro. Stadia allows me to play games that usually won't work on Linux due to Anti-Cheat.

Been having a lot of fun on Stadia. It works automatically with my Logitech F310 and my Hori RAP 4 KAI which are both wired.
