Reverse-horror CARRION to release this Summer with pre-orders up

By - | Views: 14,123

Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital have put up pre-orders for CARRION, a reverse-horror that's as gruesome as it is awesome to play. It also appears to be releasing this Summer. No exact date yet but with pre-orders up and Devolver hosting a 'Devolver Direct 2020' mi- July, they said to expect release dates so it's likely the CARRION date will be revealed then too.

CARRION is a reverse horror game in which you assume the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin. Stalk and consume those that imprisoned you to spread fear and panic throughout the facility. Grow and evolve as you tear down this prison and acquire more and more devastating abilities on the path to retribution.

We don't tend to suggest pre-orders, as anything can happen between now and release. There's times though when you just want to support a developer that bit extra doing Linux with what looks like a great game. CARRION, going by the demo, is absolute awesome too.

You can try the CARRION demo right now on Steam during the Steam Game Festival and pre-order for £16.99 / $19.99 / €19.99. You can also follow on GOG for when the release comes.

I've been waiting for this game for a long time, I played the demo. I still hear that game will be released soon and "soon" is always two months in the future. No matter when I read about it, it's always two months. At first I was excited and now I am bored with waiting. A little bit and I will forget about it and will not buy it.

Quoting: GuestThe demo worked on a potato and is fun to play.
My traveling laptop is more of a lemon, do you think it will work on that as well?

This demo is a lot of fun, and the mechanics feel super smooth with a gamepad.

Quoting: PatolaWhat other "reverse horror" games (where you are the villain) do you guys like? I particularly love Attack of the Earthlings and the Overlord series.
Overlord was awesome. The seal clubbing alone was hilariously over-the-top. Took some getting over myself to get that sweet XP.

There's also Stubbs The Zombie, which was awesome, but unfortunately not successful at all.

Another, actually very dark game, would be Manhunt.
