Have time to play some more classics? The latest release of ScummVM might not be out yet but they have announced some more titles will be playable. The team do provide regular daily builds of all the latest work, thanks to that trying out all the latest enhancements is only a few clicks away.

Two notable titles they included support for recently are Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy a cyberpunk-themed adventure released originally in 1998. An interesting development, as thankfully the original developers actually provided the ScummVM team with the source code and so it got ported over to ScummVM. Doesn't look like it's easy to come by the game though.

Another more recent addition is The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time, which is fully supported by ScummVM now as well. The ScummVM team said "After a number of years in development by clone2727, and a few more years maturing on a shelf, the game is finally ready for public testing.". Thankfully this one is easier to get, since it's available to buy for the data files from GOG.com.

Wonderful to see even more classic games get supported in ScummVM.

Nice to still see ScummVM getting worked on. Had a folder full of games for it somewhere.

Maybe Nightlong may be coming to GOG, at worst I found a few website where it could be found, but a GOG release would be a better thing to have. From asking around, seems it's more in the Full Throttle tier on the puzzle difficulty side which is good.

The other game interest me less, even if some artworks definitely have my back (the suit for example).

Guess I'll wait and see if Nightlong get a GOG rerelease, or any kind rerelease.

Missed this news.
The cryptic part about The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time spending a few years on a shelf is that clone2727 had ported it to ScummVM for Presto Studios to be re-released on DVD and GOG.com but the patch to build it with ScummVM was never merged back until now (clone2727 had left the project and not on good terms, to say the least and sadly LordHoto with him, who I knew AFK from before he joined ScummVM).
Trecision indeed provided the original source code for Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy, as did The Wyrmkeep Entertainment for Halls of the Dead: Faery Tale Adventure II that was merged in-tree just the other day, as part of one of the Google Summer of Code projects by student "a-yyg".
You can keep an eye on the changes to the Engines wiki page that I try to keep up-to-date.
