SCS Software celebrate 25 years with a mini-documentary

By - | Views: 21,247

Love Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator? Two very popular games that SCS Software have been upgrading for a long time now, and they're celebrating their 25th anniversary.

It's a little hard to believe that games about driving cross-country in trucks are as popular as they are, with both games regularly seeing multiple tens of thousands of people playing at the same time on Steam.

To celebrate the occasion, SCS made made a little documentary. In their blog post, they said it was originally only supposed to be shared internally for their team but they " realized that all dedicated fans in the #BestCommunityEver may appreciate getting a glimpse of the memories of some important moments in the history of our company". You can check it out below, and it's 45 minutes long so you might want to grab a brew.

Currently ATS is the only game I'm playing on the ATS Deck. I have to say I was very sceptical that it would be playable with the small screen and the limited control options [1], but the default configurations (many layers) are very good with a few tweaks.

Footnote 1: I tried to play the game with a gamepad on my desktop and had a horrible time compared to turning with the mouse.

I'm pretty happy playing with my gamepad, but it definitely took some getting used to, and some fine tuning of the controller settings. I'm sure I'd be happier with a proper wheel though...

I have been playing those with gamepads for years now. Today I use my Steam Controller with a custom layout, since I find the default lacking for my priorities.
