Announced today, Dying Breed from Sarnayer that blends together the classic style and gameplay in the original Command & Conquer but with Zombies is now being published by MicroProse. Seems quite fitting to have a name like MicroProse attached to it.

Taking you back to the glory days of the classic RTS experience with a 90s electro-metal soundtrack and even those brilliantly silly FMV live-action cut-scenes. Set in a post-apocalyptic world it has the usual base-building and resource gathering but the action also looks great.

It will have Native Linux support at release. Yeah, I'm excited for this one. I grew up on C&C, Red Alert and the likes so this one really speaks to me. Can't wait to see more of it.

You can follow it on Steam. There also for now still some old demos on itch.io.

Quoting: CyberwormOh wow, didn't know MicroProse still existed
You and me both, brother. But I'm glad they are still around. Damn I had some serious flashbacks when I saw that Company's name. Felt like 1995 for a few minutes.

Cannot see how Donkey Kong would have been improved by zombies.. :)

ain't you in for a surprise

DONKEY KONG ZOMBIES ★ Call of Duty Zombies Mod (Zombie Games)

The next edition of Tower Toppler, now with extra zombies.

Always felt like Tower Toppler would feel better if the mechanics and sound were brought closer to the Commodore 64 version of Nebulus. While dodging zombies might be cool, I feel that this would be taking the game in the opposite direction.

But sure if any programmers out there want to add zombies to Tower Toppler I put my hand in to evaluate it, and compare it to the original C64 game.

Tower Toppler cross with Dark Castle anyone?

Haha, I was playing Beef Drop (Atari 5200 Burger Time clone) on the Steam Deck the other day. Kind of felt like Zombies chasing me. Game is a blast by the way!

Even though I am in the US, the fun thing about the 16bit era was all the European versions of games... so I always knew Tower Toppler as Nebulus! They had cooler names...

Nebulus french meaning seems to be flotation device of some kind.
Anyone speak French?

https://www.linguee.com/english-french/translation/nebulus.html

If each Tower is floating above the water then there has to be more weight under the water then above.
Submarine to undersea entrance of each tower, get past the zombies underwater before you make it to tower above sea.

There was more than one tower in the C64 game.

I think I am over thinking this.. :)

Question?

If MicroProse gets brought back from the dead, by another company
are they still MicroProse?

Or are they just another company posing as MicroPose,
waving the MicroPose banner to capture a loyal fan base,
and maybe, or maybe not getting access to past IP.

A meaningless flapping in the wind..

Is it just a name change that means nothing? Marketing?

Right? Atari seems to own some of their IP. They were mostly known for really great strategy / simulation games. I just want them to bring out a new Falcon or F-15 Strike Eagle type game.

According to what’s on Wikipedia, Bill Stealey does have some involvement with the new MicroProse.
I understand David Lagettie has been buying up MicroProse IP for years in the hopes of relaunching it.

Since 2018, the MicroProse brand has been owned by David Lagettie, working with Bill Stealey's own company iEntertainment Network on the WarBirds series of combat flight simulators. Since its revival by Lagettie in 2019, it had announced Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age by the developer Triassic Games AB, Task Force Admiral - Vol.1: American Carrier Battles by Drydock Dreams Games, Operation: Harsh Doorstop by Drakeling Labs, and Warfare 1944 by Drakeling Labs.
