The Wandering Village gets a big Ocean Update and you can win a key

By - | Views: 30,877

The Wandering Village is a wonderful city-builder where you're building on the back of a massive creature. Currently in Early Access, Stray Fawn Studio just released a big watery upgrade. With Native Linux support and a Steam Deck Verified status, it's an easy choice to recommend from my own time spent enjoying the idea.

With the Ocean Update out now it's added a whole new biome to wander through, building upgrades, new decorations, a hostility modifier system, new buildings, new events, new locations and much more. Check out the new trailer below:

They have a lot more planned to add into the game including new biomes, improved villager AI and an improved happiness system, flying merchants to trade with, birds you can tame, more buildings, more events, more locations and the list goes on. Lots of good systems in place they can keep expanding on so I'm keen to see how much more they add in but it's already a really fantastic combination.

Want to win a key? The developer kindly gave two to give away. To enter just leave a comment to say why you wish to win a copy of this game. Giveaway closes 9PM BST, Monday - July 24th.

If you wish to grab it now it's also 25% off on Steam until July 27th.

I've had this game on my wish list for a while so I'd love to get a key

I wish to win the game, because I played the demo and got hooked on the visuals and had it on my wishlist since then, but I hadn't pulled the trigger yet. But if I can get it for free, I will definitely start to play that game :D

I wish to win a key because i'm a game hoarder with 2.8TB of steam games alone, and i need it to help me fill my 16TB nvme ssd raid 0 array.

The game looks beautiful! It is SteamDeck verified (which is something I always check nowadays before buying any game). I love this genre of games, they keep me glued for hours 😅
Last but not least the reviews seem to be quite good!

I'd love to win a key. Been following for a while, but never really got into early access games. If there is a way to benchmark it, I'll happily work to add support to Phoronix Test Suite.

I wish to win because I´m so devilishly handsome I always loved ressource management and city building. I spent countless hours with the Settlers and Anno series. The Wandering Village seems to be right up my alley and I really love the twist with the giant creature. It also seems to be a great fit for my Steam Deck

I've been a long time follower of your blog, but I just registered to post this comment today. I'm really excited about the new ocean update for The Wandering Village and I hope I'm lucky enough to win a key.

I've been following the game's development for quite a while now, and I'm keen on some genres that The Wandering Village seems to mix: survival, strategy, base building 4X... And, well, there's the novelty of the game premise itself, which uniquely calls to me.

You see, I have two cats, a dog, and a bunny. And they're all very curious about the world outside. They love to explore, and they're always getting into trouble. The older cat is an escape artist and gets outside even when it's forbidden. The younger cat keeps appearing in the most unlikely places (on the top of a closet, yesterday). The dog doesn't remember that he's friends with two cats at home, and when he's outside, he's only interested in chasing them. And the rabbit... well, the rabbit has his sex drive overclocked or something. He even tried to "seduce" my dog.

So I think they'd really enjoy living in a village that's constantly on the move. Who knows, maybe they'll end up making friends with the beast below.
