Valve released a Preview update for SteamOS to ensure the Steam Deck OLED is fully supported. Plus, thanks to the recent price changes, the Steam Deck is back to being in the top sellers.

For SteamOS 3.5.2 you need to be in Preview via Settings > System > System Update Channel. It's a small one though in terms of the specific list of changes:

  • Added support for Steam Deck OLED
  • Removed spurious splash screen during reboot and shutdown

That's not to say what's inside is small though, as all the additions needed in SteamOS itself are important to make sure it fully supports the Steam Deck OLED. Which should also ensure smoother transitions for people moving an SSD over from an LCD Steam Deck to the OLED Steam Deck which Valve said to me via email that it should work without issue around November 16th with a software update.

Additionally, the Steam Deck is back up high in the Weekly Top Sellers with it being number 1 in the UK for the last week, and number 4 globally (in supported regions). This is thanks to the 256GB LCD model now being cheaper, while the 64GB and 512GB LCD models have a big price-drop until they sell out since they're being phased-out.

Reports in the Steam forum are that 3.5.2 being geared for the Deck OLED with its thicker fan have broken the fan curves for the OG fan.
