The Game Awards 2023 is approaching and just like last year, they will be hosting a giveaway so you can win! This time it's the Steam Deck OLED for 100 people! Specifically, it's the 1TB model too.

You need to be in a supported country to be in for a chance to win which includes: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States. You also need to be at least 18 years old.

When does the giveaway begin?

December 7th, 2023 - 4:30 PM PST / December 8th, 2023 - 12:30 AM UTC.

When does it end?

December 7th, 2023 - 8 PM PST / December 8th, 2023 - 4AM UTC.

Pretty terrible timing for those of us in the UK / EU.

See more on the official giveaway website.

Valve also have their own special The Game Awards 2023 page.

You'll be able to watch the full event via many different platforms like YouTube at the same starting time as the giveaway, see The Game Awards website for all the info.

We will have a temporary channel set up in the GamingOnLinux Discord for chatter during the event.

Quoting: artixbtwAh, the flashbacks of not being able to sleep last year, having to sleep with the computer running...

At least I had a chance to enter, but this time, they are using Gleam. Bet they would require connecting every single kind of social media account I don't have and won't register.

Giveaways suck. Expect nothing or be disappointed.
Oh god it IS gleam.io with the tell tale "# of entries" box at the top left. Great, so I have to show them I have a twitter, instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn profile with a large amount of followers and a willingness to engage in corporate marketing on their behalf.
And because I have none of those, my entries will be both diminished AND downranked -- why issue me a reward if I'm not going to spread the word to my millions of followers?

So, just to get this right:
Everyone who signs up has 1 chance to win a Steam Deck.

Everyone who logs in via Steam has 1 additional chance to win a Steam Deck.
Everyone who is masochistic enough to suffer registering on Shitter and follows 2 channels can get 2 additional chances.

So, masochists have twice as high chances to win...

Last year, you were forced to suffer through the show, as well!

Well, I tried, but Gleam just kept telling me that they were doing maintenance and asked me to refresh - for an hour, in the middle of the night, for nothing. Great experience; wouldn't do again!

I guess I'm glad that I forgot about it and went to sleep.
