Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition launches on PC on March 21st

By - | Views: 39,215

We finally have a confirmed date for Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition which will release on March 21st for PC gamers. Thankfully it includes plenty of graphics options to tweak it to your liking, that might also help Steam Deck performance.

They've confirmed it will have NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS. It will also support "21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide and even 48:9 resolutions with compatibility for triple-monitor setups", along with fully customizable controls from keyboard and mouse to controllers.

Pre-order bonuses were also announced:

  • Blacktide Outfit and Blacktide Bow* (available only with pre-purchase).
  • Nora Legacy Outfit and Nora Spear* (available only when linking your Steam account to PlayStation Network).
  • 2 Special Outfits (Carja Behemoth Elite and Nora Thunder Elite).
  • 2 Special Weapons (Carja Behemoth Short Bow and Nora Thunder Sling).
  • In-game Resources Pack including ammunition, potions, and travel packs.
  • In-game Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike Piece.
  • Exclusive Photo Mode pose and face paint.

It's truly fantastic that we have Proton to play games like this one Linux. And that Sony PlayStation titles now release on PC often like this too. Good time to be a gamer for sure.

That said, for Steam Deck players, the first game was really tough on the Steam Deck, I will be very interested to see if this can get anywhere close to at least 30FPS. Desktop Linux players of course have a lot more options.

Check out the Steam page for more.

Will you be picking it up?

Quotefully customizable controls from keyboard and mouse to controllers.

Hopefully all at the same time for gyro aimers.

I haven't gone back to finish the first one yet. But assuming I enjoy all of that, and when this one gets to an appropriate price point for the amount of support, yeah, probably.

Monotonous, did not find char skill/progression interesting.

Never played the series, but I've been told this was the best entry of the series ("the kind of game to buy a console over (???)"). It's nice to see that it's getting a PC port.

I really liked the first one. Il will absolutely get this one too.
I just want Ghost of Tsushima now on Steam Deck / PC Linux!

Regarding Horizon, I am very curious to see how this game performs on the Steam Deck. With some minor hiccups, I think Sony has released games in generally a good state on PC and with an effort in getting them to support the Steam Deck as well, so I am optimistic.

Speaking for me, it made me buy my first console ever, a PS4 Pro, just to be able to play this gem. I absolutely love it and was pretty much blown away by the story behind it. Admittedly I'm a sucker for such settings. :)

If Sony wouldn't release this one for PC, which fortunately they do these days, I would have had to get me a PS5 just for this game. :)

I have the same problem but with Demon Souls. Every month I get tempted to pick up a PS5 but so far I'm staying strong and keeping up hope.

I'd be more interested to see Sony releasing God of War: Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima...

Great news! I know what I'll be doing well into April and May. Absolutely loved the first one so will pour many hours into this. Been waiting for a very long time.

I had to buy both a (second-hand) console AND TV to play it. Then I gave them to a friend for his birthday :P

I don't think my current machine can run this one well, but it's definitely on the list for my next upgrade.
