Single-player extraction shooter ZERO Sievert adds controller support

By - | Views: 25,059

ZERO Sievert is a top-down pixel-art single-player survival shooter from CABO Studio and Modern Wolf, and now it should be a lot nicer on Steam Deck or Desktop PCs with controllers.

It already worked quite well with Proton 8 on Linux, but it wasn't great on Steam Deck due to the lack of controller support. That's much less of a problem as of the latest update as it adds full controller support to all actions, plus various parts of the UI were updated to work properly with it and just be more intuitive overall. The developer also said clearly they're now working towards making the game fully Steam Deck Verified.

Testing it on Steam Deck myself it is vastly better, although the new controller support takes some getting used to, and some bits are a little tricky it's now properly playable.

The developer also improved inventory sorting, AI combat is more realistic with weapon recoil, no more insane accuracy leading to your death. Overall, a pretty great update for an already incredibly fun game.

Seems like loading time and performance has improved a lot since I last played it too, it's looking really good now.

Available in Early Access on Steam.

This looks pretty interesting actually, kinda like a more casual and single player escape from tarkov. Like the idea.
Keep a eye on this one.

I'll be much more interested when they add in more enemy types of threats. I kind of wish a game like this existed but didn't focus too much on zombies.

Think a game like this, combined with the world system of Cataclysm, Dark Days Ahead... That would be amazing.

For those who played DDA, you know its not all about zombies. In fact zombies are just little annoyances in the gameworld where MUCH nastier enemies exist, even massive terminator robots :)
