Evil Dead: The Game from Saber Interactive / Boss Team Games, LLC is getting delisted from all stores (Steam purchases are already gone), although you will be able to continue playing it if you wish.

Short a few days from being released for three years, and only two years since the Steam release, this goes to show the complicated situation with licensed games. They already stopped live updates for the game back in September 2023 and cancelled a Nintendo Switch version (X/Twitter), so the writing was on the wall for this to happen.

An announcement on Steam reads:

We can confirm we've begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support.

The game has Easy Anti-Cheat, although not stated on the Steam page, and going by the latest ProtonDB report it doesn't seem to currently work on Linux.

If you're looking for an active similar game that works on Linux / Steam Deck, I can recommend Dead by Daylight. See more games on our dedicated anti-cheat compatibility page.
