Valve continue hammering away at the code for SteamOS to get it working nicely on more devices and hardware, with SteamOS 3.7.9 Beta bringing more fixes.

While Valve are only officially supporting the new SteamOS 3.7 release on the Steam Deck and Legion Go S, work towards support for other devices is ongoing.

SteamOS 3.7.9 Beta changes:

General

  • Fixed a case where the battery level indicator could become stuck.
  • Fixed VRR frame pacing with the performance overlay on screen.
  • Fixed game stuttering when using the volume keys.
  • Fixed Legion Go S joystick lights turning off upon entering desktop mode.
  • Fixed controller input occasionally disappearing on the Asus ROG Ally.
  • Fixed grip buttons not registering on the Asus ROG Ally.
  • Fixed a hang on boot on Strix Point platforms.

Developer

  • Re-added some btrfs and lvm2 modules to udisks.

This is in the Beta and Preview channels available via Settings > System > System Update Channel.

Wow, a new update for unsupported platforms already! I swear they only said they're supporting the Lenovo Legion Go S. Not that I'm complaining...
