Burn With Me is a narrative deck-builder like no other, where permanently burning your cards is one of the main game mechanics.

You follow the lives of occult university students who discover ancient rites and invocations with the help of their passionate Teacher. Face their personal trials, summon new creatures, synergize them, and burn to uncover the depths of obsession.

If that sounds a little familiar, you would be right. It was originally created during the Ludum Dare 55 game jam that I previously covered. But now, it's coming back with a new style and expanded gameplay for the Steam release and has a brand new trailer to show it off too.

Check it out in the trailer below:

Writing on Steam about the fresh announcement the developers said:

After we've made the successful Ludum Dare prototype of Burn With Me, we knew that full release was just a matter of time. Unfortunately, when core team is just a couple of people, it's hard to make several games at once. So, we decided to first finish Robot Detour. It was fun!

After that — small break, and in January we started working on resurrecting Burn With Me. 5 months later we are here: with new crazy look, new crazy ideas for the game, and surprisingly even a story! With characters!

We'll see where this adventure will lead us, and we don't want to spoil too much yet, but this is a wild ride, and we are enjoyng every second working on this game.

Something that's really cool about this one is the fusion of handcrafted art and real-life videos, which really makes the style come alive.
