The Painkiller reboot from Anshar Studios and 3D Realms is now confirmed for release on October 9 with a new trailer.

They're still calling it a "modern reimagining", with it looking nothing like the older games with its focus now on co-op play, it's Painkiller only in name really that they say "pays homage to the classic series". While it has full offline solo play, there's naturally been a lot of tweaks for co-op but grumbles aside it does look pretty good actually.

Split across two editions it's available now to pre-order. The standard edition is €39.99/£34.99 that includes a skin pack for pre-orders and a Deluxe Edition for €49.99/£44.99 that also includes a season pass with three planned post-launch DLC.
