I need this. Athanasia has jumped right to the top of my wishlist for some Dino Crisis meets System Shock vibes in an immersive sim. Announced during The MIX Summer Showcase from Momentum Games and Neon Doctrine, it looks like everything I've wanted.

More about it: "Set inside a secret laboratory overrun by prehistoric predators unseen for millions of years, utilize an expansive map, a wide variety of tools, and your own wits to survive against monsters far more powerful than any human could dare match, and to discover how and why these creatures have suddenly returned to Earth."

Highlights:

  • Use your wits and your equipment to navigate hidden pathways and uncover forgotten secrets.
  • Take advantage of your surroundings to escape deadly encounters or destroy unwitting foes.
  • Find caches of vital equipment and uncover the audio logs of those who lived, worked and died in this forsaken place.
  • Wield an arsenal of nifty tools and deadly weapons
  • Combine resources to create healing items, distractions, or traps.
  • They are strong… but you are smart. Prove that humans are the apex of our era.
  • Hack into computers, jimmy open doors, and refuel machines.
  • Sneak, stalk, and outwit your foes in tense, hair-trigger encounters.

There's a demo you can try on Steam right now. You'll need to use Proton on Linux.

Once you turn 10, nobody asks what your favorite dinosaur is. It's not because they know it, it's because they don't care. All that just to say, I hope to see a dilophosaurus and a triceratops in these game.

Hope there's a t-rex in here, maybe as a final boss
