Maze Mice is getting ready to leave Early Access - that was fast. A major update for this survivor game that blends time-stopping Pac-Man features is out now. From the same developer as Luck be a Landlord.

Blending all the features you know and love from the likes of Vampire Survivors, as you run through a maze in Pac-Man like fashion but time only moves when you do. It's a clever game idea and one of the most unique spins on the genre as a whole.

The Garden Update arrived on June 20th adding in:

  • Added another unlockable maze (on top of another from the previous update).
  • Added 3 more unlockable upgrades.
  • Added an auto-pick button (it appears when the upgrade pool is limited to 2 or less upgrades).
  • Added Steam trading cards and community items.
  • Added a music track for the boss fight.
  • Added a longest game stat.

Sounds like the developer hasn't managed to make much from it, as they're not sure if it will receive many post-launch updates. As they noted in the roadmap post "After exiting Early Access, Maze Mice might receive some more content updates, but it is not incredibly likely as the game is still very far from making back what it cost to have it made".

The current plan is to leave Early Access on July 11th with The Dream Update that will bring another unlockable maze that has a changing layout which sounds fun.
