Counter-Strike 2 has begun a new season, and Valve added a new feature called Trade Protected Items and they're poking fun at Half-Life fans too.

Firstly the funny bit. This is Season 3 of Counter-Strike 2, and we all know the joke about how Valve "can't count to 3" right? How Half-Life 3 is this mythical beast that will never arrive. And, even if / when Valve do a new Half-Life many expect it not to be called Half-Life 3 just to avoid it. Well, Valve called Season 3 of Counter-Strike 2 "Season Two: Episode One" just to rub it in that little bit more.

A nice bit of self-awareness. Amusing.

A new feature has also been added to Steam starting with Counter-Strike 2 called Trade Protected Items. Allowing you to reverse all CS2 trades from the last 7 days, which could help in the unlikely event you lose control of your Steam account or were the target of a scam. See more in the Steam FAQ.
