Wine 10.12 is out now as the latest development release towards Wine 11, bringing new features and bug fixes for running Windows apps / games on Linux. Wine is also a major part of Valve's Proton.
Noted as the highlights of this release:
- Optional EGL backend in the X11 driver.
- Support for Bluetooth Low Energy services.
- More support for generating Windows Runtime metadata in WIDL.
- ARM64 builds enabled in Gitlab CI.
- Various bug fixes.
There's a pretty old memory leak bug that was checked off with this release, from way back in 2009. Looks like it was actually fixed quite a few years ago. A fair amount of bugs that are noted with each Wine release aren't necessarily fixed with this specific version, it's just what bug reports they've gone over to see if they still happen. There's probably quite a lot of these older reports that still need checking given the size of the Wine project.
