Valve seem confident enough in how Assassin’s Creed Shadows runs on Steam Deck, that it's now again Steam Deck Verified. It's nice that Valve do actually go back and recheck titles more than once, hopefully they will do this for other titles too.
When it originally released, it was Steam Deck Verified but Valve dropped it down to a Playable rating on July 24th noting it had issues with small text. As of August 12th it's now fully Verified again, with a note now actually there to say it does require internet for setup and they're recommending Proton 10 Beta which is set as the default. It's also showing as SteamOS Compatible.
We've seen the ratings switch on a few other titles before like Spider-Man 2 losing the Verified rating and then gaining it back again. And we just saw Senua's Saga: Hellblade II also get bumped up to Verified.
The main issue I find with the Verified rating on these bigger titles is that while the games do work, and you can usually hit at least 30FPS, there's a fair amount of visual compromises to make it happen. At least in the case of Assassin's Creed Shadows, it still looks visually quite good on Steam Deck.
