More monster taming goodness for you today, as Aethermancer from Monster Sanctuary developer moi rai games is now in Early Access with Linux support.

The monsters defied the virtues of this world and are trapped in a cycle of death and rebirth. Players become the Aethermancer and fight their way through the procedurally generated Fractured Ruins alongside these mythical creatures. The game combines creature collecting, turn-based combat and the roguelite formula to let you build your own powerful team of monsters. Use your powers (and your mythical friends) to win strategic 3v3 turn-based battles, defy death, and escape the fractured ruins.

I thoroughly enjoyed the design on their previous game Monster Sanctuary, especially the sound design and this looks like they've really upped the production values on it to make something even better. So far it's rated Very Positive on Steam. Valve also gave it a Steam Deck Verified rating with the default being the Native Linux version of the game (not Proton).

Game Highlights:

  • Recruit and tame mythical monsters to fight at your side.
  • Upgrade unique elemental skills for each monster.
  • Plan ahead to win strategic turn-based 3v3 battles.
  • Explore a gorgeous procedurally generated world.
  • Unlock new player classes and bend the rules.
  • Monsters – and you – grow stronger with each new life.

Aethermancer | Release Date: 23rd September 2025
