War Thunder is heating up again with the new Tusk Force update coming soon that features War Thunder's first Ukrainian-made tank, along many other additions.
The Tusk Force update will bring a brand-new subtree of Thai ground vehicles (within the Japanese tech tree), the American battleship USS Maryland, the British Sky Sabre SAM system, the Russian Buk-M3 SAM system, and the Canadian CF-188A fighter jet. As for the first Ukrainian made tank, from the press release about the details in the game:
The Oplot-T tank is War Thunder’s first Ukrainian-made tank. A modification of the T-80UD main battle tank built for the Royal Thai army, these vehicles saw combat during the brief 2025 border clash with Cambodia. The Oplot-T sports reactive armor, a Laser Warning Receiver (LWR), and an optronic countermeasures system. Thanks to its upgraded transmission, it can reverse at up to 30 km/h, allowing it to quickly fall back to cover. In addition to ammunition typical for the USSR tech tree, the Oplot is armed with Chinese-made ammo like the GP125 ATGMs and the new top-end BTA4 APFSDS round - capable of penetrating over half a meter of armor.

From the press release it should launch sometime in "mid-September".
It has Native Linux support, although it is missing some graphics features it mostly works well. I have a lot of hours in this one. I think the only thing that annoys me is how terrible the spectator camera is when playing with friends. Apart from that I really enjoy the action in it.
The game uses BattlEye which is enabled for Linux platforms. See more on our dedicated anti-cheat page.
it can reverse at up to 30 km/hSome day some one will make something as cool as our old Strv103 that could reverse as quickly as it could go forward, 50-60km/h, since it had a backup reverse driver sitting in reverse behind the main driver.
...how terrible the spectator camera is when playing with friends.
Not sure if you know already, but there is a workaround to that issue - you can drag the camera by holding the ALT key, then moving the cursor back without ALT, rinse and repeat until you have moved the camera the desired amount. Still poor experience though. Also I wish we got VR and ray-tracing.
