Necesse is a blend of quite a lot of genres that can end up a bit like a top-down Terraria, it's awesome and it's finally out properly. No more Early Access for this one, but like a lot of games nowadays it's not actually the end. It's the 1.0 but there's a lot more to come for it.

Build, quest, and conquer across an infinite, seamless procedurally generated world. Necesse is a top-down sandbox action-adventure game, with settlements to establish and dungeons to explore. You can play alone or with friends and fight monsters and bosses, mine rare ores, craft magical equipment, build an army, recruit specialists for your colony, and more! It really does have just a little bit of everything here. Also with Native Linux support and Valve rated it Steam Deck Verified.

  • Nearly 100 communities submitted presents
  • 1.0 will include a host of smaller new features like the new settler management system, new items, new sound effects, balancing, upgrades, and fixes across the board.

I've spent 45 hours with this one, mainly two player with a mate of mine. We've really enjoyed it, despite the odd difficulty spike when you hit the next boss.

It doesn't hold your hand much, but it can also be reasonably chill - events are well telegraphed and give you plenty of time to respond. Village management is simple and not at all micro-managing. Bosses are fun. Exploring is fun. Mining is fun. It's a cracking game.
