Thanks to a bit of a woops, PICO PARK:Classic Edition from TECOPARK is now staying free to play, permanently.

What is it? PICO PARK:Classic Edition is a local/online multiplayer action puzzle platformer game for 2-10 players. Originally released in 2016 it had a big upgrade in September 2025 to refresh the visuals, add online play, add Steam Input support and add support for monitors running higher at 60Hz or higher.

It was paid before, then temporarily made free during 2021 and then back to a paid game. This time was only supposed to be free for about a week but it has to stick now.

Writing in a Steam announcement the developer said: "I was planning to switch to a paid plan after updating the online support. but I forgot that once you switch from paid to free, I can never go back to paid! :) If you enjoy playing this free version, be sure to try the series (PICO PARK , PICO PARK 2) too". They also mentioned in a post on X (translated) that Steam told them they could not make it paid again due to going free multiple times.

So now it's basically a nice intro game to the full PICO PARK and PICO PARK 2, both of which have an overall Very Positive rating on Steam. Great co-op fun if you're in need of another to add to your list.

PICO PARK:Classic Edition | Release Date: 28th April 2016
