MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is an upcoming retro-styled beat 'em up from Tribute Games with Dotemu and Gamirror Games. A demo was just released with Linux support.
Tribute Games have previously worked on a number of Native Linux games including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and they're also doing the upcoming Scott Pilgrim EX. So it's nice to see direct support continue for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion too!

The demo features 9 playable heroes including Nova, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Phyla-Vell, Captain America, Storm, Venom, She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon. There's 2 playable levels in it with New York City and a Helicarrier, plus you can play it in local or online multiplayer too.
The full game will have 15 playable heroes, so this is just a taste of what is to come.
More about it:
In MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, the immortal Super Villain Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, threatening all life as we know it. Super Heroes, both Earth-born and cosmic, must now join forces in a star-spanning adventure against the deadly Annihilation Wave. Brawl through the streets of New York City all the way to the depths of the Negative Zone to foil Annihilus’ vow to spread death across the cosmos in classically inspired side-scrolling combat.
Choose and control your own team of two characters while tagging between them mid-fight with the innovative Cosmic Swap system, capitalizing on distinct superpowers and special attacks to create unique team-ups and dish out devastating damage. Unlock stellar power-ups and rewards while experimenting with different duos and bash through a fantastic collection of locales and nemeses from the MARVEL universe. MARVEL Cosmic Invasion’s action includes a range of accessibility features, empowering the whole family to be Super Heroes (or Super Villains), and supports four-player drop-in/drop-out local and online co-op with crossplay.

But overall I feel the game have potential. Looks like they sill have a couple months before the release, so I hope they can address most of the problems gamers have pointed in the gameplay.
As of bugs, at least in my rig, it didn't recognized my controllers. They worked fine trough Proton tough.
