I'm getting more excited about the open source cross-platform Nexus Mods app, especially as we're getting closer to Bethesda games support. Going to be really great when it's more ready since this has Native Linux / SteamOS support, finally a good proper fully featured mod manager for Linux integrated with the biggest modding site around.

The latest update v0.19.4 brings in new context menus (pictured below) to make interacting with mods easier, and there's also support for Stardew Valley FOMOD installers baked into the app now too.

Even more exciting is the load order rework for Cyberpunk REDmods, which helps prepare it for load order in Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout.

The full changelog:

Context Menus Are Here:

We've added the ability to open a context menu by right-clicking on items in the Loadout and Library pages. This streamlines your workflow by providing quick access to common actions like "Remove" or "View Mod Page."

Stardew Valley FOMOD Installer Support:

We've added support for running interactive FOMOD installers when managing Stardew Valley. This allows you to install more complex mods with configuration options directly within the app.

Bug Fixes and Performance:

  • Fixed an issue causing Stardew Valley SMAPI to be installed incorrectly, which resulted in SMAPI crashing on start. If you were experiencing this problem, please uninstall SMAPI from the app and install it again to fix the corrupted file.
  • Fixed an issue with Stardew Valley.exe not being backed up and restored correctly after uninstalling SMAPI.
  • Fixed a file-time comparison bug that caused performance slowdowns when applying a loadout.
  • Fixed errors that occurred when trying to unmanage a game while a loadout was actively applying.
  • Improved game updates and DLC changes detection without requiring a restart of the app.

Under The Hood:

  • Our privacy policy and telemetry changed with this release. You can click the question mark in the top bar and go to the about page to read more about our privacy policy and to accept the changes.
  • Load Order Rework: We reworked the Load Order backend used for Cyberpunk REDmods, in preparation for adding Bethesda Load Order support (required for games like Skyrim and Fallout).
  • Settings Clean-up: Removed some development and experimental settings from the main Settings page to focus the user experience on stable features.

I'm still really nervous about how long until the new owners start messing with things. I don't want to lose my lifetime subscription.
