FINALLY. We can see that Death Stranding 2 is coming to PC thanks to a leak from a ratings board. The wait may be almost over, and just in time as I've gotten the partner to give the first game a download to join me in loving it.
The data comes from the ESRB, in a now-deleted post that we can see thanks to the Wayback Machine. Whenever it arrives, it will be a day-1 purchase from me to play on my Fedora KDE install. Perhaps we might even be graced with a release date during The Game Awards, which wouldn't be a surprise since Hideo Kojima has been there a few times in previous years.
Sony games often come to PC a good while (a year or more) after the PlayStation release (apart from Helldivers 2), but we're not even close to a year since Death Stranding 2 originally released so perhaps they are speeding this one up a bit.
Exciting times!
Here's the original PS5 trailer if you want to see it again or for the first time:

With such a huge game, the biggest issue will be how Proton will run it. However, Valve have made such massive improvements since the original released - so hopefully we won't run into any trouble. GamingOnLinux will let you know either way shortly after release.
I'm waiting to be able to guide Sam Porter Bridges again on his journey, reconnecting people over the continent and figuring out what the heck has happened to the world.
Please Proton, make this one work on Linux when it releases on PC.
