Valve released a new Proton Experimental update for November 7th with a nice batch of game fixes for Linux / SteamOS and Steam Deck gamers.

Proton Experimental is the main testing area, where fixes and improvements eventually come to numbered versions of Proton. See more in the GamingOnLinux guide to all the Proton versions. Below is everything new in the November 7th update.

Noted to be now playable includes:

  • Metal Slug: Awakening
  • The Obsessive Shadow
  • Drop Dead: The Cabin
  • Lost Memories 3 Side Stories
  • Death by Scrolling
  • Stellar Reach

And the bug fixes for this update:

  • Fixed audio playback in Rocket Jockey.
  • Fixed Crystal of Atlan crashing on dekstops.
  • Fixed Rocket Jockey not being playable on some installation.
  • Fixed mouse cursor wrapping issues for Hell Yeah!, CastleMiner Z Eterium, Blood and Bacon.
  • Fixed ARC Raiders stutter when changing game settings on some system.
  • Fixed long wait on every launch of many Xbox Game Studios games including Avowed, Grounded 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Outer Worlds 2.
  • Fixed video playback in Conquer the World.
  • Fixed video playback in Okayunyumu!.
  • Fixed glitchy video playback in Satisfactory.
  • Fixed 7.1 audio channel mapping in Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and potentially many other games.**
  • Fixed Proton 10 regressions:
    • Killer Instinct should no longer crash at the end of match.
    • Steam Workshop integration in The Conquest of Go should work again.

I'm playing outer worlds 2 right now ... I never noticed any long wait? But I guess I'm glad its fixed lol?
