The major caveat here is that it's done through Ubisoft directly, not Steam. So for Linux / SteamOS gamers, you'll need to install Ubisoft Connect using Wine or Proton. We have a guide for Battle.net which is basically the same steps, especially if you scroll down to the second option of just installing in Steam directly using Proton - so you shouldn't have too much trouble with it.

Example: Star Wars Outlaws. So extremely frustrating. They absolutely nailed the worldbuilding, art, audio, and then the actual gameplay was a combination of extremely boring plus extremely frustrating. The entire thing felt like it was a game made by a committee of accountant suits who have never actually played a game before.
I try by Lutris (Ubisoft Connect was installed), but crash dialog appear.I had the same issue. I managed to solve it by changing the runner to wine-10.16-staging-amd64-wow64 x86_64.
I had to install it first, though. You can download this version through Preferences > Runners > Wine.
Now when I click play Fenyx in Steam, the Ubi launcher automatically starts up, minimizes itself to the taskbar, and takes me straight into the game - no interaction with the Ubi launcher needed, except to click the close button when I exit the game. In fact, the majority of the wait time is spent waiting for Steam to start up...
Frankly, I've always thought this worship of the Steam client and aversion to other launchers a bit silly, especially for free games: in the end, I spend 99.999% of my time in-game, not staring at a launcher, whether Steam or otherwise.
