Update 04/12/25 10:26 UTC - The developers are being accused of using AI generation for the game. There's been a lot of chatter across social media about it. In reply, the publisher Running With Scissors posted on X/Twitter:

1. We hear your concerns, and we can assure everyone the art in question contained no AI, being as real as Krotchy’s cojones. This was simply a case of misidentification. We’ve taken the step of substituting the art ahead of time to keep the focus on the new game announcement. For the curious, please see this video for the old art’s PSD layers: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ed8wzEjmxRw&feature=youtu.be

2. “POSTAL: Bullet Paradise” is being developed by Goonswarm Games, a wholly talented team that we at Running With Scissors fully entrust and support as they embody the indie spirit we hold dear.

3. We are proud and excited to publish this upcoming bullet-heaven FPS and deliver to our longtime beloved fans a wild new entry in the POSTAL series that delves into its ever-growing multiverse!

Looking at the comments from the YouTube video ("Canceled Key Art Timeline Full Windowed") linked by RWS from the developer Goonswarm Games that's supposed to prove it's not AI, there's a lot pointing out again it looks to be made with AI. There's a whole lot on X/Twitter pointing out many flaws in the proof video too.

I've reached out directly to ask for more information on what's going on.

Original article below:

Ready to go POSTAL once more? This time it's in a survivor-like bullet-heaven styled setting, because obviously every developer needs to be in this genre now. Not that I am complaining, it actually reminds me of the time it felt like everyone was attempting some sort of Battle Royale.

Here you get to suit up and cause some chaos as one of 11 playable POSTAL Dudes from different timelines. Each with their own starting loadout and perks as you blast through hordes of enemies. And, because it's a survivor-like, you will get cards thrown at you to pick upgrades to evolve your POSTAL Dude during a run.

It will be playable entirely solo but you will also be able to team up in online co-op with four players max. Check out the reveal trailer below:

From the press release: “POSTAL: Bullet Paradise is all about releasing the essence of POSTAL and its signature gallows humor into an over-the-top and highly replayable package,” said Artem Korovkin, CEO, Goonswarm Games. “Equal parts irreverent and action-packed, we’re thrilled to partner with Running With Scissors to bring this dystopian slice of Paradise to life.”

“No way in Hell Mike J is going to Heaven,” laughed Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi. “But he’s definitely gunning for POSTAL: Bullet Paradise next year.”

According to the press release it will have Linux, macOS and Windows support at release in Q3 2026 and will be priced at $19.99.

I'm pretty keen for this. POSTAL: Brain Damaged is absolutely fantastic so I'm not adverse to spin offs (even if it's by a different dev). I've also played a decent amount of [Vampire Hunters](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2206270/Vampire_Hunters/) and have enjoyed that quite a bit so I know the FPS bullet heaven genre can work.

Aaaaaand it's gone. RWS posted another update:

... we've been overwhelmed with negative responses from our concerned POSTAL Community. The strong feedback from them is that elements of the game are very likely AI-generated and thus has caused extreme damage to our brand and our company reputation.
...
Our trust in the development team is broken, therefore we've killed the project.
