Welcome back, dear readers, to another community article for us all to have a little chat about what we've been playing recently. It's been about a month since we last did this, so it's time to see how you're all doing.

Last time I was completely hooked on ARC Raiders, clocking up a current total of 135 hours. I'm at a point where I feel like I've seen pretty much everything the game has to offer, and so I've taken a bit of a break from it for a while to see how it evolves across a few updates. Very enjoyable though, as long as you don't mind the PvP where you end up losing your good stuff constantly.

Now that I've kicked the ARC habit, I've been jumping into a few other games including the truly excellent Sektori. Mixed in with some Overwatch 2 for the new season and winter events, because family members love it. Despite a brief hiccup with the latest season, it continues running great on Linux.

I also properly tried to get into Fallout 76 with the partner recently too, but something about it just feels a bit off. I can't quite put my finger on why. I think, perhaps, I just enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas too much that it doesn't do it for me as an MMO? More time needed to see for sure. Am I really missing too much if I skip over F76?

Over to you in the comments - what have you been playing lately?

Where Winds Meet, Stellar Blade, and Project Zomboid.

I'm really loving Where Winds Meet. It's the first online game I've truly enjoyed for a long while now. I just hope it doesn't turn into the typical NetEase game eventually.

I went to Nexusmods to see what mods there were for Stellar Blade, as I do for most games I buy... Big mistake... just gross.

Quoting: notinuseI've been playing Legend of Grimrock 2. I like old-type dungeon crawls similar to Dungeon Master, and Grimrock 2 adds outdoor areas that work better than I expected. Having a lot of fun crawling around the sewers.
This is high on my list! You think it'd be good on the Deck? Or is a mouse keyboard better?

Factorio Space Age for the last two months... It's really nice, but man it's so much work, lol

Also playing Valheim with my wife. We're about to enter Mistland, so in "preparation" we're spending a few weeks building a fancy house.

I mean, what did you expect? I'm not really surprised. ^^

I've been trying out some games on Amazon Luna. Up till now, I had ignored it since the free stuff was less than interesting. But they put Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (a game too heavy for my pc) and Hogwarts Legacy (a game unsuitable for purchase due to failing consumer friendliness restrictions) on there so I've been playing those.

I've enjoyed my time, but it's immediately clear to me that this is not the default way that I want to play my games. Input lag is noticeable. This especially problematic in menus and when trying to fire a gun. Not really an issue with other stuff though as these games are not particularly quick.

are you having any issues with the turn based mode? It's still in beta, so just wondering if I should keep waiting ...
Downwell is the only thing I'm playing nowadays.

Due to a lack of time and energy (30+ gamer here), I'm finally trying to make some progress in BG3. Otherwise, I'm jumping back and forth between Anno 117, MTG Arena and Bloomtown.

Returned to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with the intention to finish the main quest and DLCs. I had already completed all the side quests by the time I took a break from the game.

I am done with Brushes with Death, made some progress in Legacy of the Forge and advanced the main quest almost to the "point of no return" and took a first peek at Mysteria Ecclesiae.

In a way, I don't want the game to end, so I am a bit hesitant to rush everything to its conclusion, but since I've already clocked 150 hours by now it's really time to wrap it up.

But as fun as the game is, personally I feel the original KC:D offered a better experience. It had better quests, a better open world, a more personal, relatable story and a perk to automate the alchemy mini game.

I saw Tamriel Rebuilt had a big release and decided it was time to get OpenMW running and install a modlist. It's a little unnerving just how much I remember about the original game, and TR is very well executed.

I'm enjoying Little Rocket Lab, and that got me thinking about other games that mix genres (like Before The Echo and Hi-Fi Rush). After that, I'll check out Yakuza 0: Director's Cut. And I might replay Yakuza Kiwami 1/2 before Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties comes out.

I'm also waiting to see if my friends are willing to play Diner Bros 2 or the new PlateUp update with me.

Point and click game "Splittown". A match for Sam & Max or Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle fans.

I finished Clair Obscur last week I really enjoyed the entire game. I did accidentally over level for ACT 3 and defeated the final boss before they had a turn. I tried going though the end game content but it takes so much focus and I had been playing the game for a week straight I'm just tired and worn out so I've stopped for now.

While visiting my sister for thanksgiving I was playing Baldur's Gate 3 on my SteamDeck since the game had font scaling so I could play it on the TV. I really just want to be with Shadowheart I have no clue why I just want her. Playing as a Mage Elf and just talk my way though most things but sometimes I talk and I get roped in to something else.

Back to now 3 days ago I was talking with my friend and we started talking about tony hawk pro skater do to a video he saw I talked about how I wanted to replay American wasteland but don't since you could only play as a male in the story mode and while looking around we found reTHAWed and I have been playing it since. No female in story still but the modding is fun textures are just PNGs and 2 added classic mode campaigns that I'm going though. They also have a linux updater. I hope they can get a female protag in at some point, supposedly they have a VA for the role but they need to redo every cut scene do to model differences.
