AMD had plenty to reveal at CES 2026 with a bunch of new processors, including the new AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D as the "the fastest gaming processor on the market".
This new gaming processor built with Zen 5 and featuring second-generation AMD 3D V-Cache is claimed to have "up to 27% better gaming performance compared to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K". Bringing 8 high-performance cores and 16 threads it sounds like quite a beast overall. AMD said systems with the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will arrive beginning Q1 2026.
| Model | Cores / Threads | Boost / Base Frequency |
Total Cache | TDP |
| AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D | 8 C / 16 T | Up to 5.6 / 4.7 GHz | 104 MB | 120W |
They're also expanding the Ryzen AI Max+ series with two new chips combining Zen 5 cores with AMD Radeon™ 8060S series graphics and second-generation AMD XDNA NPUs. AMD said systems with the new AI Max+ series will be available beginning Q1 2026 from major OEM partners with more coming throughout the year.
| Model | Cores / Threads | Boost / Base Frequency |
Total Cache | Graphics Model |
cTDP | NPU TOPS | Graphics CUs |
| AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 392 | 12 C / 24 T | Up to 5.0 / 3.2 GHz |
