It's a new year, so here's some games that should release on PC during 2026 that I'm excited for.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven (DLC)

22nd January
The base game is just amazing. A great mixture between building up your little village cult, along with some pretty tough and varied combat. The DLC features sound awesome like adding in ranching.
Cairn

29th January
"Reach a summit never climbed before in this survival-climber from the creators of Furi and Haven. Climb anywhere and plan your route carefully, managing pitons and resources to survive unforgiving Mount Kami. Discover what Aava is willing to sacrifice to achieve the ascent of a lifetime." - Steam page
Mewgenics

10th February
The next game from the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh. Build the ultimate cat army through tactical breeding and send them into deep, challenging turn-based adventures.
REANIMAL

13th February
"The creators of Little Nightmares™ I & II have returned to take you on a darker, more terrifying journey than ever before. In this horror adventure game, a brother & sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends and escape the island that they used to call home." - Steam page
Resident Evil Requiem

27th February
"A new era of survival horror arrives with Resident Evil Requiem, the latest and most immersive entry yet in the iconic Resident Evil series. Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core." - Steam page
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire

19th March
"Join private investigator Jack Pepper on a guns blazing, jazz-fueled adventure in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. MOUSE combines the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation inspired by the classic cartoons of the 1930’s with the adrenaline and action of an explosive first person shooter." - Steam page
Slay the Spire 2

March 2026 (no specific day)
The first game was a true master-class in deck-building strategy, and the sequel is shaping up to no doubt be one of the best modern deck-builders around.
PRAGMATA

24th April
"Capcom’s newest IP—PRAGMATA. An all-new Science Fiction action adventure with its own unique hacking twist!
It is the near future, and protagonists Hugh and his android companion Diana, must work together as they make their way through the cold lunar research station." - Steam page
007 First Light

27th May
"Earn the Number. 007 First Light is a thrilling espionage action-adventure game from IO Interactive. Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6's training programme, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy." - Steam page
CONTROL Resonant

No exact date other than 2026.
"Explore a warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation in this thrilling action-adventure RPG. Unleash the extraordinary powers of Dylan Faden as he fights for his humanity and our survival against a reality-bending cosmic threat." - Steam page
ONTOS

No exact date other than 2026.
Frictional Games have made some incredible experiences like SOMA and Amnesia, so I'm keen to see something brand new from them with a sci-fi mystery.
Witchbrook

"Discover magic and mystery in Witchbrook, a spellbinding witch life-sim for up to 4-players! Start your life as the newest resident witch in the bustling seaside city of Mossport. Make friends, find love, and discover a world filled with wonder and charm on the road to graduation and beyond..." - Steam page
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes

Q1 2026
One of the best sci-fi series ever made, and I'm currently doing a rewatch with the Fiancée for her first time watching it. Really can't wait for a new strategy game set in the universe.
Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown
No date yet, but I do expect it to be this year.
The early demo was a bit rough in places and they have some clear issues to sort (like the audio), but giving us a chance to do whatever we want as captain of Voyager? Yes please.

Palworld: Palfarm

There's no date yet, but I would expect at least Early Access for this year.
Taking the Pals from Palworld and putting them into a cosy life-sim? Sure, why not. Sounds like a fun idea. With multiplayer and the hint of some darker themes too, I'm very curious how this goes.
Gears of War: E-Day

2026 sometime.
"Fourteen years before Gears of War, war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself." - Steam page
Death Stranding 2

This is probably my most-wanted for 2026.
We still don't have a date, or an actual confirmation that it definitely will arrive on PC still but I fully expect it to launch on PC in the second half of this year. After June it would be a year since the PS5 release, so it would be a great time to finally get the PC release done. The first game is one of my favourites so I'm keeping hope alive for this one.
That's just a small slice of some of what I'm looking forward to getting my hands on.
What are you looking forward to this year?

(With very low hope to be shipped without kernel-level anticheat.)
What are you looking forward to this year?[Adventures of a Cat in Space](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3265960/Adventures_of_a_Cat_in_Space/)
of the ones listed, I have Ontos, Battlestar, Star Trek on my list. I don't like that the latter two have "rogue" in the descriptions but we shall see, sometimes those elements are minor.
I would have Pragmata on the list because it looks super interesting but I just have absolutely zero faith in capcom as a dev. They're one of the worst outfits I can even imagine. I got burned so hard on Dragons Dogma 2 which was a steamy shitpile that never ran (like at all without crashing) and I got JUST over the time limit for a refund so that was a wasted chunk of cash.

Also looking forward to ALL WILL FALL and Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant.
Also, when it comes to new releases this year, I'm sure that sooner or later we'll see a surprise release that will come out of nowhere and become a major hit.
It doesn't have a date yet, but I'm also really hoping the digital version of [Twilight Imperium](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3669430/Twilight_Imperium_Digital/) releases this year. Now in addition to 12-hour sessions with friends twice or thrice a year I can practice on my own! 😆
And it's not software, but I'm looking forward to the Steam Controller release for using my Deck as a living-room multiplayer setup.
