1047 Games have revealed that SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded is getting a big upgrade tomorrow (January 22nd), with a completely redesigned battle royale mode. This might be their last chance to make the game work, as player numbers are not looking good for it.
This Arena Royale mode has 24 players that are split into 6 teams of 4, which they say is built to play at a pace and length similar to a normal arena match. Here your team can respawn as long as one of you is left alive, until you hit the final circle (as it's still a battle royale styled mode) then all respawns are disabled. The whole idea of it is to "bring our previous Battle Royale closer to the speed and intensity of Arena Reloaded". Keeping it focused the entire match will be in a single biome that players vote on in a new lobby system, along with fast-paced looting with chests that open automatically and loot drops as soon as players get eliminated.

The update also adds in two new arena maps, a new endgame mastery camo, and a limited time event.
I'm willing to give it a chance, as the mode does sound like a proper interesting blend of arena-style combat with some elements of a traditional battle royale into something fresh.
