Sprint City has been revealed by the original creators of SpeedRunners, a new movement-focused racing platformer that looks and sounds great. Now going under the name of Second Stage Studio, there's no current date on when they'll release it.
It sounds mechanically interesting in the design of it too. Multiplayer focused with the developers saying it's built using a single shared world, where it drops you to nearby players seamlessly with parties staying linked up as you explore. There's also going to be a special free friend invite system, where your friends who don't own it can join via the browser for free. Pretty cool.

Co-Owner & Game Designer at Second Stage Studio, Casper van Est, said “With Sprint City, we wanted to focus on what we love most in games and what we’re best at, which is pure movement. It’s a shared world multiplayer experience built around how good it can feel just to move around, so we worked really hard on a satisfying game feel and a visual style that never gets in the way of that.”
Features:
- Built for Speed: Tight, responsive controls make every sprint, jump, and swing feel fast, fluid, and addictive.
- Parkour Momentum: Wall-run, grapple, and chain together stylish freerunning moves to keep your speed alive and outrun anyone else in the city.
- Multiplayer That Moves: Race or free-roam with other players online, and challenge others throughout the world to climb the leaderboards.
- Play on Steam or party up via browser play: Jump in with other players on Steam, or party up and invite several friends to join for free via their browser.
- Urban Playground: Discover and explore open districts packed with shortcuts, rooftops, and hidden routes built for honing that perfect line.
- Style Your Look: Unlock new gear and change up your look in between races.
- Soundtrack With Flow: Get your heart racing with a playlist of original, high-tempo tunes.
If you say this is from the original author I wonder what happened behind the scenes.
I would love to see if they are able to improve on the first game with this one. I already decided that I wouldn't buy the second one with what they had to offer.
