Overwatch is back? Overwatch is back! They're ditching the silly "2", along with adding a whole lot of new heroes and other major upgrades.
Announced during Overwatch Spotlight they've revealed that they're going to be telling a "multi-faceted, fully-connected story across the entire year" across 6 seasons. 10 new heroes will be joining the game, with the first 5 when Season 1 launches on February 10th.
They said that there will be constant updates to maps, new artwork and more with this story arc giving a new cinematic that then unfolds through: Motion Comics, In-game events, New Voice Lines, Animated Hero Trailers and Short Stories.
And they plan to bring major updates every year. To help with this there's going to be a big UI refresh too, so Overwatch will return with a brand new look as well. In addition to all that, they're also dividing heroes into sub-roles that have different perks.

Overwatch works really nicely on Linux and has done for a long time, apart from small blips here and there which usually get solved quite quickly. Hopefully such a big update won't come with other problems so we can continue gaming on Linux.
And about Blizzard as a whole, where is Warcraft IV? WoW II? Starcraft III?
Quoting: CyrilWhat is "silly" is what they did to Overwatch (the first one). I think I will never understand that move. You won't be getting a Warcraft IV ever; that's what World of Warcraft was/is.

Quoting: Serious_TableBut... it's not, WoW isn't an RTS and never will. We can't reduce a game solely on its lore, it's bullshit.Quoting: CyrilWhat is "silly" is what they did to Overwatch (the first one). Don't you think it's sad?
What?! No anti-cheat issues on Linux?! Unbelievable!"
*End of sarcasm*
Quoting: CyrilWe shouldn't be able to just reduce a game to its lore, but as is, that's what Blizzard has done. World of Warcraft is doing better than any singular Warcraft game did, so they aren't incentivized to go and do another. And the Warcraft team is basically wholly focused on WoW (and occasionally Hearthstone, but that's firmly intrenched in the "tangentially related" category).Quoting: Serious_TableBut... it's not, WoW isn't an RTS and never will. A Starcraft 3 is more likely as an RTS entry, in this day and age. Especially with Microsoft as their overlords and breathing down their necks.
