Resident Evil 4 (the 2023 remake) now seemingly has no special DRM attached to it, as Capcom finally listened to fans to improve the game.
The game originally launched with Denuvo, and then a bunch of people celebrated back when that was removed in early February but it was replaced with The Enigma Protector. Now, that has also been removed as shown by SteamDB and it is no longer listed on the Steam page either.
A game actually removing DRM is always a nice thing to see. It was quite widely reported that Enigma DRM did bring down performance across all systems from Linux / SteamOS to Windows - so hopefully now everyone will see it play smoother regardless of your chosen platform.

A nice time for it to happen too with the recent release of Resident Evil Requiem.
So this is a maybe for me now. I've ignored all the RE games of late, because they've been encumbered. Might have to bring myself up to date and play catch up.
Quoting: LinasMost likely they realized that it did not protect anything either. It protected a lot of people's wallets, which are now exposed to impulse buying. ;-)
Quoting: scaineI appreciate that I'm in a minority here, but DRM has never been about performance for me. It's been about respecting your customers and not treating them like criminals. It's about giving your customers a better experience than the pirates. Not sure why you think that's a minority opinion. It's really not. At least not here. ;)
