War Thunder Infantry is getting closer to release, and there's a new trailer to show it off along with a new closed testing period. Have to admit my excitement for this, to have a popular online game like this add infantry combat with Linux support too.
They're testing out Domination modes for 64 vs 64 and 20 vs 20 battles. And while originally the plan was to have you control a squad with bots, this newer test brings solo players together to form squads which sounds like a lot of fun too.

No word yet on when the public release will arrive. But it should be a major update to the base game of War Thunder. Slowly turning it into a fair bit more like the Battlefield series which blocks Linux / SteamOS. It's also seriously great to see the Linux logo in the trailer too.
Really can't wait to see what actually happens with this. Are you as excited as I am? More info on all of it and how to apply in their Steam announcement.
Quoting: hardpenguinI am very excited for this as well. I applied for the closed beta some time ago but haven't been accepted yet. Maybe because I am not that active in War Thunder in generalI am an active WT player - also no closed beta invite.
It seems to be influencers first
Quoting: dimkoPay to win game got expansion, hooray!I'd really love to hear in what way you have to pay to win.
Quoting: dimkoPay to win game got expansion, hooray! It's not a pay to win game, it's a pay to skip the grind game.
Quoting: BalkanSpyIf you have not grinded, and you are in the queue against guy who did - who will win?Quoting: dimkoPay to win game got expansion, hooray! It's not a pay to win game, it's a pay to skip the grind game.
Even if you win in team vs team, you - will be cannon fodder and he will be cannon fodder killer. Much fun!
Quoting: dimkoYour comment doesn't really make sense. You get matched up with people around the same vehicle unlock level as you regardless of paying or not.Quoting: BalkanSpyIf you have not grinded, and you are in the queue against guy who did - who will win?Quoting: dimkoPay to win game got expansion, hooray! It's not a pay to win game, it's a pay to skip the grind game.

Quoting: Liam DaweI haven't played the game, but I think he's saying at an equivalent level of vehicle unlock, the one who's spent grinding hours playing the game to get the unlock will almost certainly defeat the one who just bought the vehicle.Quoting: dimkoYour comment doesn't really make sense. Quoting: Liam DaweSo you want to tell me it levels on vehicle AND skill? Also, crew? free tier AFAIK - can not be rested more often, so inherent advantage there. AND models of vehicles not available to free players. The fact you don't know it well enough gives disadvantage, even if paid for vehicles are worse.Quoting: dimkoYour comment doesn't really make sense.
