DEATH STRANDING 2 gets better performance for Steam Deck along with other general improvements

Nixxes and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS just released another patch for DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH bringing various improvements like better Steam Deck performance. Great to see such attention for the game after the initial PC release!

In the announcement they said: "This update focuses on additional optimizations for Steam Deck, resulting in improved performance in scenarios such as Bandit Camps. We've also implemented various bug fixes and improvements related to Steam Input.

In the Basic Controls menu, you'll now see how to access Photo Mode on controllers without a touchpad. Additional changes include various bug fixes and improvements to the user interface and localization."

  • Performance optimizations for Steam Deck.
  • Various improvements and bug fixes related to Steam Input.
  • Performance improvements related to the user interface when using mouse and keyboard.
  • The Basic Controls menu now displays how to access Photo Mode on controllers without a touchpad.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when closing the launcher by clicking the X button.
  • Various improvements and bug fixes related to the user interface.
  • Various bug fixes related to localization.

They said they will continue with updates based on feedback, so they're still not done with it yet.

One of the coolest things Valve has accomplished with the Deck actually has nothing to do with Linux, it's just getting PC developers to optimize for low end hardware for longer. BG3, Doom, Death Stranding now, I'm sure there are plenty more.
