Nixxes and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS are continuing to improved the PC release of Death Stranding 2, with patch 1.4 out now and there's more to come.
In the release announcement they mentioned work continues on future updates and additional optimizations to come. So, as always, patient gamers end up with the best experience as patch 1.4 looks and feels a surprising amount nicer than the initial release overall.
The main changes are:
- Players on Steam will now see more Steam user avatars in the Social Strand Service.
- Fixed various rare crashes and implemented additional stability improvements.
- Expanded the range of sharpness control for upscaling options.
- Improved image quality for various textures when Texture Quality is set to Medium or lower.
- AMD FSR and Intel XeSS Frame Generation now correctly include vignetting when interpolating frames.
- Resolved a bug affecting the appearance of flowing water that occurred when building a Hot Spring with Frame Generation enabled.
- Various improvements and bug fixes related to the user interface.
- Fixed various minor graphics-related bugs.

Improved image quality for various textures when Texture Quality is set to Medium or lower.I wonder how many titles could benefit from this or how many do it on purpose so people are "encouraged" to have more high-end components.
