Urban Games have revealed that Transport Fever 3 will have a special Curated Mods Program, as they ramp up development towards release. In case you missed it - back in March they confirmed full Linux and macOS support.

In further details they released today sent to GamingOnLinux they noted how Transport Fever 3 will bring "an even more powerful toolset for modders" and that "nearly every new feature developed having moddability in mind, and mods available cross-platform through the in-game mod hub".

To help the release be as great as they possibly can to really push the series forwards they've already given early access to the game to several dozen well-known modders from the previous game, who have been working closely with them since early 2026 so there will be a number of interesting mods available when the game releases. They're also expanding this modding support with the Curated Mods Program that they're taking applications for.

In the press release they said: "The Curated Mods Program allows the best modders to create mods in close collaboration with the Urban Games development team. They receive dedicated support, get early access to the game and have the chance to influence the final part of modding-tool development with their feedback and expertise. At the same time, they are honoured by Urban Games with a financial grant and their mods will be specially marked in-game so that new and veteran players alike are able to spot these highest quality mods at first glance."

They said they plan to continue this long after release, to keep a steady flow of fun mods arriving for the game. And they've been doing plenty of closed Beta testing to ensure it's a stable release.
