Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 revealed to arrive this "Summer"

While the first game was reasonably okay, I am keen for more Alien action games so hopefully Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be a lot better. It could never be as bad as what Gearbox did to Colonial Marines right? I'm still sore about that.

It's being developed by the same Cold Iron Studios, but the publisher has switch from Focus Entertainment over to Daybreak Game Company. No release date yet other than sometime this "Summer".

So what's different? Well, more of everything by the sounds of it. Squads of 4 now instead of 3, a bigger variety of xenomorph threats to deal with, a fully customizable class to play the game exactly how you want it and a dedicated horde mode. So far at least, it sounds like it's going to tick a lot of the right boxes for me as an Alien universe lover.

From the Steam page:

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

The first game worked well on Linux with Proton, I expect this will too unless they decide to mess with some annoying anti-cheat that can be problematic for Linux machines. Hopefully not since it's a co-op game, but we've seen it added to various other co-op games as developers use it partly to protect DLC and micro-transactions.

i have sunk a couple of hundreds of hours into first one. I loved it. But community died way too early.
and it was a bit limited.

Just add more content and hopefully this game will be better than first one.
