The official Vulkan API Conformant Products list from The Khronos Group recently had Valve's Steam Machine appear on it - so a release is likely quite soon.
The Khronos Group oversee various open standards like the Vulkan graphics API, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, WebGL, SPIR-V and many more that developers are free to use instead of proprietary formats like DirectX.
Something to note though is that being on this list doesn't necessarily mean we actually know when it will release, as it's mainly a formality for showing that the Steam Machine with the open source Mesa graphics driver will correctly run software with the Vulkan API.
Appearing on May 23rd - The listing shows it as an "AMD Steam Machine" using the Mesa RADV driver (the AMD Vulkan driver) with an AMD Navi 33 GPU, a CPU noted to be "AMD Custom CPU 1772" and the testing was done on the Linux kernel "6.16.12-valve6-1-neptune-616-g37101e112292 x86_64".

Joking. Just wanted to mirror the separate steam reddits, specially the r/ steamframe one , which are full of fans saying it's today/tomorrow over and over again.
Could the 3 separate hardware launches actually have gotten people more hyped/anxious about the whole thing?
Quoting: nullzeroWhile this could be the case for the Steam Machine, I guess the Steam Frame cant release until it is also added to this Vulcan list🤔Place your bets now - when do you think it will see a pricing and launch date announcement?Tomorrow (TM)

Does that mean it will most likely release after the Steam Machine? (unless they delay it until the Steam Frame is ready)
