Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II from Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games now has a release date set for May 21st with a new dev video.

Following on from the rather good original game, Mechanicus II features fast-paced turn-based tactical combat and strategic management. You'll be able to take control of either the ancient and deathless Necron legions or the techno-religious acolytes of the Omnissiah, with the fate of a world in your hands.

The launch date was revealed via the second in an ongoing video series highlighting two deployable leaders, one each for the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Necrons, offering an in-depth look at their playstyles, abilities and strategic roles within the unfolding conflict. The latest video focuses on the returning Lector-Dogmatis Videx, the orthodox voice of the Omnissiah, and Obasis, the Necron Lord known as ‘The Shield’.

The developer said that there will be various new environmental mechanics that will require you to manoeuvre your forces "like never before and play to their chosen faction’s strengths and weaknesses – take cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus, or destroy it as the Necrons".

At release it will be priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99.

I'm looking forward to this till it was announced (I finished the first game multiple times and yes I'm a WH40k fan :-D ). I played demo of Mechanicus 2 on Steam Deck and it was great, but it had some performance issues on Steam Deck. We will see if those are fixed in full game.

YESSSSS!!! I love all things wh40k and Mechanicus 1 was SOOOO good. The endgame was not really properly thought out, so hopefully they listen to fans and fix that here. But no matter what I'm playing the hell out of this game this summer, so excited!

What do you mean? Wiping everything on the map in the first time was not what they wanted? 🤔

LOL.

I actually never even did finish the first game because it just got so boring :( I think I did like a half dozen or so battles where the enemy never even got a single turn, ever. So then there's no point to anything. Why even upgrade anything? Why change any abilities or etc etc etc. And for a tactical game where there isn't much else outside the battles: I kinda just moved on to other things.
